Speech can be recorded in the computer lab during class time or as homework using Canvas, QuickTime, and/or the ELC AudioRecorder. These recordings can be in response to a level-appropriate prompt. Students listen to their recording and transcribe it.
Teachers give feedback with coded error symbols which can be adapted according to your class's needs and abilities. After receiving feedback, give students the opportunity to reproduce their answer with the corrections, either in a recording, to another student, etc. To be most effective, feedback should be given within 1-2 days after the initial recording.
Watch this video for a brief tutorial that shows how to use ELC AudioRecorder.
