Presentations

Presentations can have the following purposes (Note: not a comprehensive list):

Explaining a grammar principle: Teachers may want to test the students’ understanding of a grammar principle by asking them to do a presentation in which they explain a grammar principle. The instructions about what needs to be covered in the presentation should be clear and a rubric should be used when assigning a Proficiency grade. For example, when presenting about subject-verb agreement, students may be required to use examples, an explanation of adding an ‘s’ at the end of the third person singular verb, and an activity for practice. In this case, the teacher will need to provide a clear rubric for a Proficiency grade. The teacher may choose to allow time in class for preparation for the presentation in which case the students will earn a Learning Experience grade.
