Students in FA and FB should engage in bottom-up reading. Using the Reading Horizons phonics curriculum, teachers assist students in learning, identifying, and producing basic phonics in class. Similarly, students should use the Reading Horizons online phonics software out of class as homework and sparingly in class. Both the Reading Horizons phonics instruction materials and online software are available to levels higher than FB on an as-needs and first-come-first-serve basis.
